Our Story

Our Story

We are a nondenominational, evangelical Christian church dedicated to following our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in the heart of South End in Charlotte, NC. When you walk into our church, you will be warmly greeted by friendly people who are interested in making you feel at home. God's truth is at the core of who we are and what we do, and we keep the Bible at the center of our worship. Every week you will find expository preaching and relevant teaching given in a spirit of love. We are committed to Bible learning and offer men and women's Bible studies throughout the year, as well as a weekly theologically in-depth adult Sunday school class. Our worship music reflects our desire to speak the truth in love, and we incorporate a variety of uplifting traditional hymns and reflective praise songs meant to complement the weekly preaching.

Children are lovingly included in our church family. We have an excellent apologetics-based Sunday School curriculum to teach our children why we believe what we believe. We welcome children in our church worship service, with the option for younger ones to attend a Bible-centric lesson in Children's Church during the sermon time. We have an infant/toddler nursery staffed with dedicated and nurturing volunteers, and a convenient "cry-room" that overlooks the sanctuary, so parents can care for their children and still participate in worship. We also have a variety of programs for children throughout the year such as VBS, choir, and art classes.

Outreach is important to us, and we strive to be good neighbors in our local community. Besides hosting assorted activities open to South End and the surrounding areas, our church is home to Faith, Hope, & Love, an afterschool mentoring program for low income at-risk kids from nearby neighborhoods. We are also the founding church of Changed Choices, the largest mentoring and support organization for incarcerated women in our region, for which many of our members regularly volunteer. We take the Great Commission seriously and currently support missionaries worldwide, in places such as Africa, East Asia, and Europe, and arrange short-term mission trips when needed.
